Investigators have learned the cause of a house fire in Newberg were a woman was found dead.
The house is located in the 1500 block of SW Paradise Drive. The fire happened February 7.
Firefighters found the body of 63-year-old Kathryn Sigler on the second floor.
The cause of the fire was an unattended cooking appliance in an upstairs bathroom.
The medical examiner says Sigler died before the fire started from natural causes.
Her dog escaped the fire, but suffered smoke inhalation. It's being cared for by a veterinarian.
Newberg Police say there were no signs of foul play.
