A new AAA study finds Millenials ages 19 to 24 are the worst behaved U.S. drivers.
The research found that 88% of these young Millenials engage in the riskiest behavior while behind the wheel, including texting while driving, speeding and running red lights.
Marie Dodds, Director of Government and Public Affairs of AAA Oregon/Idaho, says many Millenials believe that their dangerous driving behaviors are acceptable, and don’t seem to realize the potentially deadly consequences that not only put themselves at risk, but for all road users.
Dodds says what’s surprising is that the nation’s youngest drivers, ages 16 to 18, are actually pretty good drivers. AAA found this group’s driving behavior is similar to drivers who are 60 and older.
