Two Gold Bars Dropped In Red Kettles

Two more one ounce gold bars have been dropped into Salvation Army Red Kettles in the Portland area.

One gold bar was donated over the weekend and then on Monday two one ounce bars were donated in separate kettles at the Foster Road Fred Meyer store.

The Salvation Army has a goal of raising $750,000 through their campaign.

The one ounce gold bars are worth around $1,300 each.

"This is all very exciting, and it completely unexpected! It's amazing to think that something so small could bring so much help into the community," said Captain Angel Marquez - Corps Officer of The Salvation Army, Portland Moore Street Corps.
