A plane's emergency beacon was received from Mt. Hood Tuesday afternoon and wreckage of a plane was found on the North side of the mountain.
The plane and pilot have been the subject of a search since it left last Friday from an airfield near Camas.
The pilot, 63-year-old George Regis, was killed in the crash. He was the only person on board.
A recovery operation will start on Wednesday.
