I am proud to say that the Mariners' Opening Day story has been recognized by the Associated Press as the "Best Use of Audio" in 2007 by the Oregon A.P. and it also has earned the 2008 Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for Best Sports Reporting. I'm not one who likes to talk about awards, so somebody from Promotions is going to have to fill in the details.
Promotions Person: When Scott talks sports, Portlanders listen. And with good reason: seven times the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association has voted him Oregon Sportscaster of the Year. And, as head of the KEX sports desk, he has led his team to best-in-Oregon honors from the Associated Press 15 of the last 18 years -- including 2007! Among his award-winning stories are the 2004 Edward R. Murrow Regional Award winning sports story on The Shot

and the 2005 Oregon AP Award for Best Use of Audio in A Day At The Park

. Scott also earned a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for his behind the scenes report on the Southridge High School quarterfinal round game in the 2006 Oregon Girls High School Basketball Tournament.

Scott treats listeners to his knowledge, insights, and entertaining quips.......... Now, back to Scott.
