On January 31, 2013, detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Gang Enforcement Team arrested 22-year-old Jeray Jessie in connection with a residential burglary at his ex-girlfriend's house near Southwest 17th Avenue and Taylors Ferry Road.
On January 26, the victim reported that her ex-boyfriend broke into her house overnight and had stolen several items of personal property as well as her male Pomeranian dog named "G-Diddy."
Officers learned that the suspect, Jeray Jessie, had earlier arrived at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Jessie is a known gang member and was not cooperative with detectives investigating the shooting.
The victim reported to officers that one of the ground floor windows had been tampered with and appeared to be where Jessie gained entry.
Detective from the Gang Enforcement Team responded to begin an investigation, resulting in today's arrest.
Jessie was charged with Burglary in the First Degree and three counts of Theft in the First Degree.
Anyone with information on the burglary, shooting or the location of "G-Diddy" the Pomeranian should contact Detective Brad Clifton at (503) 823-2087 or Brad.Clifton@PortlandOregon.gov.
