During one of their spring games at Memorial Stadium, Nebraska's football team put 7-year-old Jack Hoffman on the field to score a 69-yard touchdown. Hoffman has been battling brain cancer since 2011 and was befriended by the Huskers running back Rex Burkhead a year ago.
The Portland Timbers will be doing something similar coming up in May: The Green Machine - a team of 8-year-olds that includes a boy named Atticus, who was diagnosed with cancer last fall when he started to feel pain while playing soccer. Make-A-Wish Oregon is helping Atticus' wish come true by giving his team a chance to play against Portland's Major League Soccer team at Jeld-Wen Field. You can check out the facebook page HERE.
