9-year-old Asean Johnson is a passionate and vocal campaigner against the Chicago school closures. And he is a third-grader.
Asean's school, Marcus Garvey Elementary, was originally on the list of schools to be closed, but it's one of four schools that were spared in last week's vote to close 50 other schools.
This video demonstrates how Asean brought a protest crowd to its feet as he called out Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for not caring about "these kids".
Emanuel is pushing for the closures, because it could potentially save the city $500 billion, half of its deficit. Unfortunately this came after the building of a $50 million dollar stadium for a privately owned sports team (paid for with taxpayer's money).
